Bookkeeping & VAT
Whether you have been trading for many years or just started your own business, it is essential to have good accounting records. Good accounting records give you regular meaningful figures, enabling you to make important decisions about your business. This is all the more important for VAT registered businesses since HMRC started rolling out Making Tax Digital (MTD) in 2019.
What is Making Tax Digital (MTD)? If you run a VAT-registered business with a taxable turnover above the VAT registration threshold (currently £85,000) you are required to keep digital VAT business records and send returns using Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliant software.
As part of our bookkeeping services we will provide:
• All day to day bookkeeping – recording sales invoices and receipts.
• Purchase invoices and payments.
• All books and accounts balanced and reconciled.
• Figures prepared to trial balance.
• Support and advice whenever needed from our experienced staff.
There are various ways in which we can accept your records, either electronically on our Portal or Cloud, in person at our offices, or alternatively we can arrange collection of your paperwork.
If a client is VAT registered, we can prepare and submit VAT Returns electronically to HM Revenue and Customs on your behalf using MTD (Making Tax Digital) compliant software.
Clients who are VAT registered and who wish to look after their own MTD VAT submissions, can also receive advice on suitable MTD compliant software solutions.
Dart-services are fully experienced in preparing VAT Returns under the various schemes and can offer advice as to which scheme is best for your business. We also pride ourselves on being friendly and helpful and have an excellent customer service.
Lastly, those of you who prefer to do your own bookkeeping, our team can advise on a variety of cloud-based and in-house bookkeeping solutions that can be provided by ourselves or via our sister company Dart Digital. For more information please contact us on:
